Welcome to the Solavaca Blog

Filed under: Trail News - Solavaca Ranch — mack @ 12:06 am

Talk up mountain bike topics, road cycling topics, and get your friends to join in.  Somervell County has an amazing environment for both off-road and on-road bicycling.  Plus we are getting a new bicycling shop in Glen Rose within the next 60 days!  Keep checking here for details.

7/21/08 – Update.  The bicycle shop has moved out the opening until the Fall.  Maybe October.  It is under construction in the building where the flooring store was, just east of the square.  That used to be a Texaco back before Elvis.

  2. Hey Mack, outstanding trails! The only suggestion I have is to train those horses that are masquerading as dogs to carry those little barrels ‘liquid stumpblaster’ on thier collers in case the riders get parched. Good luck with the Blog!

  3. Do you actually think white lightning would boost you up and over Culo de Gato? Maybe you are saying at that point you wouldn’t care? Man it was hot out here on Sunday! I had 3 guys show up around noon on single-speeds. They looked like they lost about 15 lbs. I can’t imagine making all those climbs on a SS. I don’t think they did either.

  4. Hey Guys,

I think you’ve got it figured out Mack. The Blog will be a great place to see what’s happening both at your place and in Glen Rose in general. And to hear back from folks who have been riding out here. I’m looking forward to much more riding. Thanks for not calling me out to help with the new 0.4 miles of trail. It’s way too hot. Holly and I rode 5 miles at lunch today on the Fossil Rim trails and I think it was about 150 degrees. Let’s keep the momentum up!

  5. Somebody needs to warn Holly about you. That’s twice she has fallen for that ride in the hell hours of the day.
