It IS frustrating to think that individuals would take such liberties. However, I expect a firm but controlled rebuke will straighten out the errant riders. Some people just don't think things through or cannot manage their impulses. Just the fact that this is now public might be all it takes. In the end, we want to make responsible riders out of these guys. Not condemn them to take up bungee jumping or anything like that.

I am very angry that self serving individuals have attempted to modify this trail. Please hope that I do not catch you modifying the trail as said above.
Mr. Hargrave love's this trail and maintains it better than ANY OTHER TRAIL in this area. I plan to volunteer at this trail and now will also police this trail in the future.

The rain held off until today, Friday 3/9. It's light, but let's see how this develops. Still hoping that we can get some pre-rides in late Saturday and all day Sunday.

If you remember the rock garden on the hill in the first mile, you also remember the brisk downhill next, interrupted by a jump. What follows is a hard left turn, and then a right. That left turn is out. The trail is extended straight for a few feet and then turns right, looping back to pick up that last climb before you are through with that hill. All this is to avoid another seep. This is all marked off with yellow tape. Keeping you from discomfort is my job. Right?

I assume there is a chance that we will be able to open. That's because optimism is my nature. But I guess we'll have to see. Most of the trail could actually use rain - maybe 1/2".

Any chance of the trail being open this weekend for previews? The forecast doesn't look promising!

My first time at the Ranch and DANG was I impressed! Not only with Mack and crew and their warm welcome and checking to make sure we had everything we needed, but the amazing trail! Man was that a blast! My first race back after my RHR disaster and it was TOTALLY worth it! I'd heard some great things... but it didn't do it any real justice. The camping is terrific as well. Some great little nooks and crannies to stick a tent and chill. WOW! Again, blown away! I'll be a frequent repeat visitor!!!

You are perfect for this. You have a way with people and words, plus you've got the biking skills & a place to use them - daily, even. I hope they pick you. They would be getting a good deal.

Nice read; good luck making the crew. If I'm ever in those parts I'll see if I can get in on one of your rides.
